Wow, time flies when you’ re having fun! It has been five years since I assumed the role of president of the USAPA and it seems like only yesterday. What an honor and privilege it has been to serve in this capacity and I am so thankful for your support. But, all good things must come to an end and it is time for me to move on to the next chapter in my and Nancy’ s life. I am a strong believer that for the good of the individual and
USAPA President Dave Jordan the organization, change needs to be ongoing. Thus, it is time for me to step aside and welcome Jack Thomas as the USAPA’ s new president. Jack will assume his new role on January 1, 2018. Please offer him the same support you gave me. I am certain, under his leadership, the USAPA will continue to grow and provide leadership and support. I will maintain board membership as past president for a couple of years, advising and / or assisting as needed. I also look forward to the additional time I can spend on the courts, playing and talking to all the great folks, new and old, we’ ve met over the past 15 years— thanks to pickleball.
Nancy and I will continue to promote this great sport with a funny name. Because of you this journey has been such a pleasure; because of you pickleball is what it is today. We thank each and every one of you for your dedication and support. You have made us feel welcome wherever we go, sharing with us the love and enjoyment that makes pickleball such a special sport. This is a new beginning for Nancy and me and we look forward to it with great anticipation.
