Physicians Office Resource
FROM THE PUBLISHER
Dear Readers,
Well the results are in and for the most part things
are looking relatively well for physicians across the U.S.
according to a recent Medscape study on physician
compensation for 2013 (see www.medscape.com/
features/slideshow/compensation/2013/public). From
the looks of things it’s not because reimbursement
rates are on the rise or because of the ACA has
brought financial success to all of you (time has yet to
tell what effect that will have), but from the most part
it looks like physicians have been stepping up to the
plate and making things happen for themselves.
Many of you are seeing an increased number of
patients and spending longer hours at the office.
Others have made changes to front office logistics or
changed payer systems to increase the bottom line.
Many of you have taken our advice and added a new
ancillary service to your office to increase revenue.
Others have added new lab testing equipment or
other diagnostics to your practice; which not only
helps reimbursements but makes things much easier
on your patients. Do you know how grateful your
patients are when they don’t have to run from your
office to the hospital or lab to get test done? Take it
from me, a guy who made a few more visits to the
doctor’s office then normal last year. We as patients
are extremely happy when you have all of those
services in your office. Obviously, there will be those
that you will have to send elsewher
