Renown Health and Kaiser Permanente Announce Joint Venture

Expanding Access and Advance Value-Based Care in Nevada
On Sept. 10, 2025, Renown Health announced that Hometown Health, our health insurance plan, will enter into a joint venture with Kaiser Permanente. Pending regulatory approval, the new organization— Kaiser Permanente Nevada— is expected to launch in 2026, with health plan coverage available beginning with open enrollment in 2026 for plan year 2027.
This collaboration would expand access to affordable coverage, strengthen local care and accelerate value-based care. For physicians, it means new opportunities to improve outcomes.
Evidence shows that the Kaiser Permanente model saves lives: Kaiser Permanente members are 20 % less likely to die prematurely from cancer, and 33 % less likely to prematurely die from heart disease.
Kaiser Permanente Nevada is part of the Renown Strategic Plan for 2025 + and works to further the goals related to Ensuring Access to High-Quality and Affordable Care.
“ We are pleased to introduce this relationship in Nevada, enhancing access to affordable care and coverage. By joining our health plan together with Kaiser Permanente, a respected national partner, we can expand access to affordable, high-quality insurance coverage for even more Nevadans,” said Brian Erling, MD, MBA, president and CEO of Renown Health.“ This collaboration strengthens our ability to keep care local, while bringing the scale, expertise and innovation of a national leader.”
Looking ahead, physicians can anticipate new opportunities for collaboration. As Kaiser Permanente Nevada takes shape, shared care models, integrated referrals and expanded digital tools will help support chronic disease management, prevention programs and population health initiatives.
There are no immediate changes to contracts, networks or points of contact. Hometown Health and Senior Care Plus products and plans remain in place. Patients can continue to access care at the same facilities with the same teams. ID cards, phone numbers and customer service processes remain unchanged.
Until regulatory approval, Hometown Health and Renown Medical Group including the Del Monte primary care clinic will continue its current operations with its employed and contracted providers and vendor partners.
