Renown Recognized as Best Hospital For Maternity Care
Renown Health has been recognized by U. S. News & World Report as both a 2026 High-Performing Hospital for Maternity Care and a Maternity Care Access Hospital, highlighting the organization’ s commitment to high-quality, equitable maternal health services.
The designation helps expectant parents and prenatal care providers identify hospitals delivering safe, effective care. In 2026, 495 hospitals nationwide were recognized as High Performing for maternity care. Renown Regional Medical Center is the only hospital in northern Nevada to receive this designation.
U. S. News evaluates hospitals providing labor and delivery services for uncomplicated pregnancies using measures such as C-section rates, newborn complication rates, vaginal birth after cesarean( VBAC) rates, episiotomy rates, breastfeeding support practices and adherence to federal“ birthingfriendly” criteria. Hospitals must also demonstrate strong performance in tracking and reporting disparities in outcomes.

Kaiser Update
Kaiser Permanente and Renown Health have completed the transaction to finalize their joint venture to operate a health plan and new outpatient care delivery system in northern Nevada. Under the agreement, Hometown Health— the health plan previously owned by Renown Health— is now jointly owned by Kaiser Permanente and Renown Health.
This joint venture marks Kaiser Permanente’ s entry into northern Nevada, expanding access to highquality, value-based care in local communities, and represents an important advancement in the organization’ s ongoing strategy to extend value-based care to additional communities across the United States.
