The award recognizes outstanding collaborations between academic institutions and healthcare organizations that extend beyond clinical placements, demonstrate measurable outcomes and align with AACN’ s Guiding Principles for Academic-Practice Partnerships.
Central to the recognition is the Gerald“ Jerry” Smith Academic-Practice Partnership, established with the Renown Health Foundation in May 2023. The program provides full-ride scholarships for up to 24 nursing students each year, along with guaranteed nursing positions at Renown following graduation and licensure.
Named in honor of the late Jerry Smith of the Nell J.
