ENROLL YOUR PATIENTS IN THE M / NASH STUDY

Do you care for patients with high-risk heart , liver , GI or endocrine conditions ? Helping your patients stay informed about their own genetic health risks is easy by enrolling them in the Healthy Nevada Project ( HNP )’ s Metabolic & Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis ( M / NASH ) study .
M / NASH impacts up to 12 % of people nationwide , which opens these patients up to heightened risks of severe liver damage , cardiovascular disease and certain cancers .
Enrolling patients in the no-cost M / NASH study can help you gain deeper insight into your patients ’ liver health and help create an early intervention plan in order to halt disease progression and mitigate future liver damage . This study will also help researchers advance their understanding of the disease while giving every research participant a close look into their risks .
Who Qualifies ? What ’ s In It for Them ?
Qualifying patients include those who will consent to participate in HNP or those who have already participated and have one or more of the following :
• Elevated liver enzymes or elevated liver function
• Type 2 diabetes
• Cardiovascular disease
• Metabolic syndrome and dyslipidemia
• High body mass index
• High cholesterol or triglycerides
• A family member living with M / NASH
By enrolling qualifying patients in this research , they will :
• Receive access to the FDA-approved Enhanced Liver Fibrosis ( ELF ) test at no cost to assess the risk of liver fibrosis or liver scarring .
• Have access to their test results in their medical record , which will help you develop a more personalized care plan .
WHAT IS THE HEALTHY NEVADA PROJECT ?
The Healthy Nevada Project is one the largest community-based population health studies in the country founded here in Reno . Participants and their referring providers receive access to free whole-exome sequencing and receive clinical grade results that help provide insight into their unique genetic risks tied to heart disease and certain cancers . As a state requirement to screen , counsel and test for BRCA 1 and 2 ( included in this study ), this study can offer an avenue to help support clinical operations . Participants may also qualify for the M / NASH study , a substudy of Healthy Nevada Project , focused on liver disease . This study provides the participant and their referring providers with access to free Enhanced Liver Fibrosis testing and risk scores while contributing to our knowledge and understanding of Metabolic and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis .
