After grabbing lunch at Pat’s Pizza we walked back and headed to the car. We sat there for a long while, letting our feet and eyes rest before Simon say

“I think the balloons are supposed to go up at 7”

by this time it was already 6:55. So we ran down from my car to the big field where the balloons were slowly getting laid out and preparing to get sent off. We watched people surround the area and patiently wait as the balloon handlers and volunteers were doing their thing. I setup my film camera for myself, and gave Simon my digital camera to play around with. I feel as if digital cameras are a lot more forgiving than a film camera. You can take as many pictures as the SD card holds and you can easily retake and delete photos. Whereas with film cameras, you have a certain amount of shots you can take. If you don’t have the settings right or the picture is random, you end up wasting a lot of money on film and developing for no reason.

Finally, balloons started to fill up with hot air and people with cameras were scrambling to get a front row spot at all the action. Simon and I, cameras in hand wove through people to try and grab the perfect shot of the colorful hot air balloons. But of course we weren’t quick enough, a small old women was directly in front of us take pictures
