OPTICAL ILLUSIONS WORKSHOP
We thought about optical illusions as a perfect guiding thread to fulfil the aims of this
Erasmus project. Optical illusions increase wit and visual capacity. All of them obey a
scene created by our brain, which completes the situation so that it acquires a logical
coherence, and when the illusions break our schemes, incredible optical effects are
created. They help us to understand the extent to which the interpretations of human
beings can go. Effects may vary from one person to another and may be influenced by
our knowledge of the world or have a psychological component.
The methodology used to carry out this activity was totally active. For a long time, we
were gathering information to create something that was totally and absolutely elabo-
rated with common, recyclable and homemade materials. The workshop was divided
into several corners from which our guests could move freely in order to appreciate the
different optical illusions in a better way. The different corners were: geometry, impos-
sible figures, perception, art, illustrations, applications, museum and playing with illu-
sions.
