Strategic Evaluation Engagement Evaluation and monitoring are at the core of all activities and decision-making processes . The SUN Evaluation Framework and Progression Framework serve as a foundational structure for the decisionmaking for all funding of interventions . This is across any level of SUN stakeholders including SUN Governance Group to learner-led activity .
Responsibility for evaluation lies across the SUN stakeholders but is driven by the Evaluation and Impact Officer . Their core responsibilities are to :
1 . Monitor engagement across SUN ’ s target schools and colleges 2 . Ensure activities are appropriately evaluated 3 . Facilitate collaborative widening participation evaluation across the region 4 . Provide support to SUN staff and other stakeholders 5 . Measure the longitudinal impact of activities and ascertain ‘ what works ’ and why
During Phase 1 and 2 CFE acted as our critical friend alongside the SUN Evaluation and Monitoring working group where evaluation specialists from partner universities provide critical feedback on evaluation and research plans . For Phase 3 , our partner HEIs will be our critical friend for the evaluation of the attainment raising programme .
The below diagram provides a visual representation of evaluation engagement across the complex set-up of the partnership .
