2021 Outstanding Accomplishments Awards
DENNIS BROWN , Ph . D ., associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences , received the Lorin M . Sheppard Teacher of the Year Award in recognition for extraordinary accomplishments in teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program . He has demonstrated excellence in teaching and motivates intellectual curiosity in students and inspires colleagues .
TERESA DELELLIS , Pharm . D ., BCPS , BCGP , associate professor of pharmacy practice , received the Outstanding Service Award in recognition of extraordinary accomplishments in service to her profession and the community . A board-certified geriatric pharmacist with specialty in Transitions of Care , she has demonstrated a commitment to engagement with the community , leadership through service and improving patient care . She was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of pharmacy practice , July 2021 .
MARWA NOURELDIN , Pharm . D ., M . S ., Ph . D ., BCGP , assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences received the Scholar of the Year Award in recognition for extraordinary accomplishments in scholarship within Pharmacy and Graduate Life Sciences . She has shown a commitment to improving the body of knowledge in areas appropriate to the mission of the program and University .
TERESA DELELLIS and MARWA NOURELDIN are among five scholars who developed a situational judgment test to assess ACPE Standards 3 – skills necessary for pharmacy practice and patient care , and 4 – essential components of personal and professional development . Their work was published in the July 2021 issue of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education .
Appointments and Promotions
MELISSA GRATZ , Pharm . D ., MBA , assistant professor of pharmacy practice , was appointed to the ASHP Section Advisory Group for Collaboration Between Health Systems and Academia . She also serves on the AACP Lab SIG Communications Committee for 2021-22 .
COLE LUTY , Pharm . D ., BCPS , assistant professor of pharmacy practice , joined the faculty July 16 , 2021 . His research interests include anticoagulation appropriate indications and optimizing antimicrobial therapy in adult hospitalized patients . His clinical practice at Parkview Health focuses on acute care and internal medicine .
RAYLENE ROSPOND , Pharm . D ., FCCP , associate dean of clinical affairs and outreach , is serving the Indiana Pharmacists Association as a Board member at large for the Indiana Academy of Non-Traditional Pharmacists . IANTP represents pharmacists , technicians and students practicing in non-traditional settings , including managed care , academia , research and public health .
TRENT TOWNE , Pharm . D ., RPh , BCPS ( infectious diseases ) was promoted July 2021 to professor of pharmacy practice . Dr . Towne is a pharmacist practicing at Parkview Regional Medical Center and serves as vice chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice .
RENEE MCCAFFERTY , M . S ., Pharm . D ., associate professor of pharmacy practice has been elected to serve as chair-elect of the AACP Health Care Ethics Special Interest Group .
Scholarship
HOLLY ROBISON , Pharm . D ., R . Ph ., BCPS , assistant professor of pharmacy practice , recipient of a 2020-21 AACP Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Grant , presented a summary of her project , “ Assessing the Use of Emotional Intelligence Training to Teach CAPE Outcomes ,” at the 2021 AACP annual meeting .
