REGIONAL REPORTS IPA
3rd Quarter 2011
Barbara Noe, Richmond, Virginia
Attractive twenty-something seeking companions in
several IPA Regions to explore and promote our passion.
Physical attributes do not matter. Age unimportant.
Experience unnecessary. Willingness and dependability
will win our heart. Must communicate well (or at all!) to spread the word
about shared experiences, events and happenings in the IPA hinterlands.
Expected to step-up only four times a year.
Could this be you?

N
ow that we have your attention …
Would you be interested in being considered as a
director to represent an area near you?
Our organization is divided into regions with a director rep-
resenting each region. Directors are charged with the duty of
being the lifeline from our members to the leadership of the
IPA. After twenty years, we are currently subdividing some of
our regions to better serve IPA membership and to increase
awareness of Phalaenopsis everywhere.
IPA leadership will support you in the planning of regional
meetings by assisting you - when possible - in securing speak-
ers/or programs to present at these events. We will also put
you in touch with others in your area who might help you plan
and conduct meetings. Please let us hear from you if you have
any questions or interest in being one of our regional direc-
tors. Thank you for stepping up to promote Phalaenopsis and
to help make a better IPA.
Our current bylaws list the duties as follows but to be perfect-
ly honest in the near future we expect our revised bylaws to be
much more workable for most individuals; so please consider
the following as a basic guide … not written in stone:

gional Directors, the number to change as new regions are

thirty (30) days written notice sent by mail to such Direc-

vote of the Executive Committee. Any Regional Director who
has not attended in person or returned a proxy for two (2)
or more consecutive meetings of the Board of Directors (An-
nual, Semi-Annual or Special) shall be considered to have re-

new Regional Director subject to approval of the Executive
Committee.
4. Regional Meetings. Regional Meetings of the Alliance are
expected to be held at least once each year and may be held
more frequently if possible and desired in the Region usually,

the discretion of the Regional Director. Such meeting shall
be publicized at least thirty (30) days in advance via any of
