the Preview Party to begin. Soon
the sales area was flooded with registrants, each eagerly examining the
sale plants. Selections were made
quickly and the available supplies
dwindled. Thankfully, no blows
were exchanged, as each person
was able to obtain the plants they
desired. However, a few of them got
away, so the lesson learned is that

the silent auction started slow and
just before the close at 6 PM, the
bidding on most of the items
became extremely active. What

raised $750 on the event. Now
let’s hope that the Saturday auction will do as well.

welcomed our attendees to start
the evening lecture. He introduced long-time friend of the
IPA, Dr. Yin Tung Wang whose
presentation focused on “Phalaenopsis Nutrition”. Citing numerous studies and scientific

of N-P-K and the necessity of
calcium and magnesium in fertilizer formulations. By the end of
his lecture, listeners were aware of
water quality, nutrition, pH and
how they play on one another to
