Phal. Little Green manni × thailandica In 2011, followed with a cross between Phal. wilsonii × venosa, creating Phal. Martha Criblez. Another new hybrid Phal. Belle Neuchâteloise is a cross between Phal. schilleriana × modesta. Also, came the cross between Phal. tetraspis × lindenii, resulting in Phal. Tetralind, this hybrid exhibits the shape of the Phal. tetraspis and veins of Phal. lindenii. In 2012, flourished as well with Phal. Stumod, a cross between Phal. stuartiana × modesta. Then came a cross between Phal. amabilis × braceana, resulting in Phal. Amabracea that shows interesting color and is similar to Phal. braceana. None of the new primary hybrids created by Luc Vincent have been successfully used for further breeding. It is not known whether this is due to the hybrids, which do not form a viable seeds/pollen, or the lack of interest by breeders on further breeding. In addition to the primary breeding of new varieties and hybrids Luc Vincent has repeated some of the past crosses in his laboratory. In particular, he used Phal. cornu-cervi × mannii. He has grown examples of: Phal. Charm (1987), Phal. Corbriata, Phal. Eiderstedt, Phal. Mancervi and Phal. Manbriata. He is particularly interested in the breeding of the yellow-green Phal. mannii f. flava × stuartiana. These hybrids also show yellow flowers a color favorite of Vincent. In the coming years, we will certainly find many other primary hybrids bred by Luc Vincent in the lists of new hybrids. This amateur hybridizer from Switzerland shows us with his breeding the various possibilities of breeding species of Phalaenopsis. So we can learn a lot from his breeding work. Many of these breeds have not been disclosed because of security reasons as they exhibit some commercial benefit. 22 Phalaenopsis | First Quarter | Volume 24 | 2014 Phal.
