MOMS MOBILE

hen Tracey Roseman and her younger siblings
were growing up, their mom was working to keep
a roof over their heads and graduate college. Their
mom was struggling. The family was struggling.
One Christmas, their mother’s classmates learned
that Santa would not be visiting the family that year and sprang into
action. Gifts were purchased, cupboards filled, and hearts warmed.
Food isn’t the only focus of Moms Mobile Mission. Offerings for
the community are continually evolving and include the following:
• parent support group meetings in partnership with the Autism
Society of Northwest Ohio;
• children’s events celebrating Halloween, Christmas, and Easter;
• coat collection and distribution;
Almost 30 years ago, at the age of 16, Tracey became a mother
herself. She is open about the challenges that being a teen mom
brought into her life, but Tracey made it work. She sought and
found assistance that allowed her to pursue a radiology tech career
while caring for a young child. • a pre-holiday event during which parents can come and select
gifts to give to their children; and
Three years ago, Tracey knew the time had come to pay it forward.
Understanding from experience that receiving assistance offered
with love and dignity can change everything, she began researching
the hidden needs of families in and around Perrysburg. Moms Mobile Mission partners with local organizations to assist
with collections and donations, including Perrysburg Heights
Community Center, Jeff’s Hauling and Cleanup, Thrivent
Financial, Gathering Volumes, Seagate Food Bank, EnPuzzlement,
IBEW Local 8, 9Round Perrysburg, and Perrysburg Municipal
Court.
• a back-to-school backpack program, providing students in
Perrysburg and surrounding areas with backpacks filled with
school supplies.
Tracey learned that an evening food distribution was needed since
many who struggle to make ends meet work during the day when
most food pantries are open. She went to work and started Moms
Mobile Mission with co-founder, Jason Badenhop.

Mission, or would like to donate or volunteer, please call (419) 277-

Moms Mobile Mission has food available for pick up at Perrysburg
Heights Community Center on the third Thursday of every month
from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (or until food donations run out).
An average of 50 families, which works out to more than 100
individuals, receive food from Moms Mobile Mission each third
Thursday.
Moms Mobile Mission food distribution is open to anyone who
needs a helping hand. Residence doesn’t matter. Volunteers are also
welcome (Scouts and students can earn service hours) as are food
and monetary donations.
With the holidays approaching, Moms Mobile Mission needs frozen
turkeys and other holiday meal staples. The organization also sorely
needs a commercial freezer.
