The designers embrace traditional
handwork, and apply it on modern and
sophisticated silhouettes. Through
that, they produce a new breed of
luxurious caftans and evening gowns
that are influenced by the Moroccan,
and Arabian heritage. After spending
around three months within the walls
of their atelier as a fashion design
assistant, I’ve truly learned more about
the process of production, tailoring,
and of course, the 70 hours that get put
into creating a single couture garment
– trust me, it’s a one step forward, and
two steps back situation, until the final
garment’s ready.
Picking up on that, the brand recently
released their spring summer
2018 demi couture collection, and
it’s nothing but a pastel toned,
kaleidoscopic bliss of bias cut pieces,
adorned with rich floral embroidery,
beaded lace, and jacquard fabric
accents.
Staying true to the brands aesthetics,
all of the embroidery was based on
rich Moroccan techniques such as the
Randa, which is similar to crotchet, but
also Tursan, and Sfeefa, which are all
created by hand using gold, silver, and
silk thread.
