Work Continues to Address Math Scores
Because of the more rigorous standards implemented, math scores for PV and districts across the state remained at a lower level. PV implemented changes at the very beginning of the 2016-17 school year to address some of these issues. The introduction of Math In Focus( also known as Singapore math) at the elementary school level is one effort the district is making to continue increasing the number of students demonstrating proficiency on the math PSSA.
While PV continues to score far above the state average, work will continue to analyze student scores and determine how to enhance instruction so proficiency improves.
