Work Continues to Address Math Scores
Because of the more rigorous standards implemented , math scores for PV and districts across the state remained at a lower level . PV implemented changes at the very beginning of the 2016-17 school year to address some of these issues . The introduction of Math In Focus ( also known as Singapore math ) at the elementary school level is one effort the district is making to continue increasing the number of students demonstrating proficiency on the math PSSA .
While PV continues to score far above the state average , work will continue to analyze student scores and determine how to enhance instruction so proficiency improves .
