Mindy Schwartz-Brown is a retired social worker and a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Beth El in South Orange, NJ. She is disturbed by the trends in both the U. S. and Israel and struggles to avoid the cynicism that is so harmful.
Dr. Henry Shreibman studied ANE languages, literatures and comparative religion at Columbia University and has taught at UC Davis, Dominican University, and Sonoma State. As a Reconstructionist Rabbi he founded two congregations- Am Haskalah in Allentown PA( 47yo) and Dorot in the Bay Area CA( 20 + yo). As Head of School Brandeis Hillel DS in SF and Marin( 1992-2005) he published Siddur Mikor Hayyim, a family Siddur filled with kavanot, learning and searching.

He is the author of the 2018 book, Healing People, not Patients, which envisions a doctor-patient relationship based on human beings being created in God’ s image. His most recent book, From Illness to Exodus, is a“ healing Haggadah” for people suffering from illness and those who care for them.
Talia Werber is a student in AJR ' s Master ' s Program, and holds a JD from Cardozo Law School. She is Founder and Instructor of Jewish creative writing workshops at Briya, and recently served as Chair of the Justice Beit Midrash, a project of the New York Jewish Coalition for Criminal Justice Reform.
