Portrait of Giuditta Pasta
We transferred to CastaDiva Resort and Spa by boat, taking a sight seeing tour on Lake Como with Giacomo on his beautifully restored boat – Alba. If you are changing hotels or locations on the lake, this is definitely the best way to do it!
The beautiful CastaDiva has a very interesting history. In the early 19th century, Villa Roccabruna was owned by Madame
Bar BELLINI Ribier, an eccentric French dressmaker from
Paris who made a fortune dressing the ladies of the high society and possibly, according to legend, was“ undressing their husbands”. Later, famous Opera singer Giuditta Pasta bought the villa in 1827. The former Villa Roda was completely rebuilt according to the " Liberty style " between 1906 and 1910. In 2000, Italian Company Hotel Residence Club purchased the property, renaming it CastaDiva, dedicated to the previous somewhat unique female owners.
There are many surprises here at this resort. Numerous villas and suites dot the hillside, all incorporating the incredibly lavish and ornate décor. Visit CastaDiva’ s amazing sub-terranean spa. www. castadivaresort. com
