SOCRATIC QUESTIONING

The Round Table Discussion planning and activity templates (See pages 14 - 16) are designed to quickly create a round table discussion session to be used during the on-campus element of the module.

Round Table Discussion (RTD) is a method used to engage you (students) in ways that help integrate new and interesting content knowledge with prior knowledge through a structured round table debate format.

Throughout the entire process of preparing the RTD activity, you (the student) will need to be reading interesting and relevant text, researching sub-topics, and creating written notes and analysis. This research will then allow you to engage in active discussions with your peers to arrive at a consensus regarding the week’s topic and develop a wider understanding of the links between the myriad of topics up for discussion.
