In the Limelight:
The 2013 PMAP President
Interviewed by: BOBBIE CO-LAGUITAO, FPM
Last year we asked Outgoing PMAP President Arthur Luis P. Florentin, FPM questions that enabled the General Membership to know him better. This 2013, in a similar fashion, we also asked incoming President Grace Sorongon, to engage into a“ getting-to-know-you” interview to elicit her deeper insights.
BOBBIE: May we get to know your family? How would you characterize your role as a spouse and doting mother?
GRACE: My family is no different from the average Filipino family. My husband Max and I have been working very hard for our three children, two girls and a boy, the youngest. All of my children are grown-ups and are charting their own careers. My eldest is an entrepreneur; my second is a doctor; and my youngest is a computer engineer.
My family is my anchor and my reason for everything that I have done. We work for a Christian Ministry, and I am proud to say that it has become the centrepiece of our family life. It is also the great cushion that I have against life’ s challenges; and with their support, I have become what I am today.
My husband is my best friend and my partner. I have a very open, caring relationship with my children. They say I am a“ cool” mom. Without them knowing, I have managed to remain“ cool” on the exterior even during very tough times because it is the only way I know how to cope with difficult circumstances.
