Women have been entrepreneurs in different ways. A homemaker is an entrepreneur as she manages her time, strategizes and plans on ways to secure her children’s future; passionate about her home and family, hence wearing different hats for a successful life. Today, we have given it a name ‘Entrepreneur’, as she steps out into the mainstream. In today’s world, women have scaled greater heights in different industries. Finally, we can see that the glass ceiling is being broken, with many woment reaching the apex level of management in global organisations. Women entrepreneurs have to fi nd a balance at both the family and business or career front. It is always a great idea to be active in local networks of women entrepreneurs. This helps to enhance the area for women entrepreneurship, where you get to see that their self-owned business gets directly involved with the policy makers at local, regional and national levels. Growth and development of any country lies in the entrepreneurial ability of its citizens. With the motive to appreciate women entrepreneurship, Delhi Management Association organized the 9th Women Entrepreneurs Conference on ‘Defi ne Your Roadmap – Innovate, Create, Celebrate & DMA All India Women Entrepreneurs Award 2019’; under the guidance & leadership of Ms. Veena Swarup, Former Director HR, EIL and Chairperson, DMA Women in Management Committee. Ms. Richa Gupta, Senior Director, Transfer pricing & Senior Economist, Deloitte and the organizing team lit the ceremonial lamp. Guest of Honor Dr. Sunita Sanghi, Sr Adviser, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship delivered the Keynote address and the Chief Guest, H.E. Nina Vaskunlahti, Ambassador of Finland, delivered the Inaugural Address. To make the event memorable, a Souvenir was distributed for all the attendees, by the Chief Guest. The fi rst plenary session was on Building up as a woman entrepreneur. Ms. Shweta Punj, Senior Associate Editor, India Today Group, chaired the session on Leveraging Your Ecosystem. Speakers from BIRAC also shared their views on how Government policies have evolved to facilitate women entrepreneurs in their endeavour to launch startups. Dr. Anita Tripathy Lal, Prof-in-Charge Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) FORE School of Management chaired the second session on Building your Financial Capability. The third session was themed as Entrepreneurship – A Global Overview. Ms. Moutushi Sengupta, Country Director, MAC Arthur Foundation was the Session Chairperson. Esteemed panelists for this session were Mr. Kelvin A Sergeant, Sustainable Enterprise Development Specialist ILO DWT for South Asia and Mr. Gautam Pandey, Director – Talent, Deloitte Shared Services India LLP. They shared their thoughts on ‘New Business Models’ that are emerging, Changing the face of Entrepreneurship and Technological disruptions that are shaping the future of work, Ms. Marianne Karmarkar, Dy. General Manager (Information Service), BPCL, chaired a special session on ‘Innovative Ways to Build Brand Equity’. The session
