Letter from the editor ...
Welcome back to another edition of Pensador ! I feel very lucky to have been involved in publishing a magazine that brings together diverse insights into culture , history , politics and more from the Hispanic , Portuguese and Catalan speaking worlds . The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of global connections and solidarity . Journalism is a resilient and powerful medium to enact cultural exchange through and I am very proud to have been part of a magazine that strives to do exactly this . Make sure you check out Isabelle Mallon ’ s article on migrant experience and language exchange in Portugal , graffiti culture in Bogota by Juliette Lee , and Sena Gikunoo ’ s profile on the Honduran environmental activist Berta Cácares . We have also had beautiful photo contributions from students during their year abroad as well as snapshots of their own adventures . I would like to draw special attention to our striking front cover design that was painted by Brooke Lewis in Estepona , Spain . As well as our amazing contributors , I would like to thank our dedicated publishing team including the proofreaders , designers , and section editors . A special thanks to Dr Rachel Randall and Dr Paul Merchant for supporting us each step of the way .
