The International Baccalaureate ( IB ) began developing what is now the Career-Related Programme ( CP ) in 2006 . After a six-year pilot of the innovative programme at schools around the world , the CP was added to the IB ’ s suite of programmes in 2012 . The CP offers a new pathway for students who want to focus on career-related learning during their last two years of high school ( Grades 11 and 12 ). Each CP student creates a holistic , individualised path that leads to further study or to employment after graduation .
Students in the CP develop academic skills , professional and work-related competencies , real-world experience and habits for future success . Students gain knowledge of content , deepen their understanding and earn practical , insightful exposure to the working environment . A key goal of the CP is to equip students with the interpersonal and problem-solving abilities they need for success in the workplace , in life and in an ever-changing world .
At LCIS , CP students continue to study mathematics , English and a second language , and choose from the selection of rigorous IB courses in other disciplines . CP students
