We were excited to see what our students came up with and were grateful that in this time of uncertainty when they could have made the choice to withdraw and choose fear , students found little ‘ silver linings ’. They encouraged each other . They made each other laugh . They were resilient and inspired others to be the same .
At the beginning of the social distancing measures here in Nassau , several groups of students came together to respond to the crisis in our community . The Class of 2020 developed a programme to help senior citizens with their grocery shopping , as well as provide them with masks for when they need to go out . One proposal saw the development of a programme to create care packages for our frontline healthcare workers . It is clear that in difficult and

adverse times , LCIS students meet challenges with strength , resilience and hope .
Service at LCIS is clearly already at the heart of the school . As we move forward , we will continue to use the potential and love for service that already exists to further build a service programme that will allow students to explore their own strengths and the ways in which they can act as leaders and responsible global citizens .
