Hunger Fullness Scale
The Hunger & Fullness Scale is a simple tool that helps kids and families learn to recognize their body’ s natural hunger and fullness cues. Instead of focusing on calories or“ good” vs.“ bad” foods, this scale encourages eating when the body is hungry and stopping when comfortably full.
The goal is to aim for starting meals around 3-4( hungry but not starving) and stopping around 6-7( comfortably full). Using this scale can support mindful eating, improve self-awareness, reduce overeating and help children build a healthier relationship with food over time.
