Blueprint for decarbonizing manufacturing sectors
More than just a single initiative, this project is a blueprint for the future: setting a new industry standard by seamlessly integrating renewables and optimizing efficiency to phase out fossil fuels. It is a replicable model which can be applied to industrial manufacturing sectors, including food and beverage, paper and pulp, chemicals, steel, and cement, paving the way for industrial decarbonization in Germany and beyond. ENERGYNEST is in active conversation with many of the players in these energy-intensive manufacturing sectors, focused on customers with a strong commitment to decarbonizing operations, with stated net zero ambitions and a belief in and commitment to the energy transition.
The landmark agreement is ENERGYNEST’ s first power-to-heat deal, and the first-of-its-kind powerto-heat with thermal storage.
Power-to-heat technology converts renewable electricity such as solar, wind or off-peak grid power into high temperature heat. When paired with advanced thermal storage, it provides a reliable, flexible, and carbon-free energy source for industrial processes, helping customers to reduce dependence on fossil fuels while maintaining operational efficiency.
Through demonstrating the practicality of power-to-heat systems, ENERGYNEST and LEONHARD KURZ are paving the way for widespread adoption of industrial electrification in key manufacturing sectors worldwide, with a scalable, repeatable model for decarbonizing industrial heat.
Powering the energy transition
With the global push to reach net zero emissions, the plastics, film, and packaging industries, which provide a variety of essential products used in our daily lives, are facing increasing pressure to decarbonize. ENERGYNEST’ s modules represent an innovative, cost efficient, reliable and flexible green solution, efficiently and sustainably decarbonizing energyintensive processes which require process heat or steam from 120 ° C up to and beyond 300 ° C, with the ThermalBattery™ capable of operating up to 390 ° C. The modules are manufactured by the Company’ s partners offsite and delivered to customers for easy assembly onsite – all cutting costs and increasing value.
The agreement with LEONHARD KURZ represents ENERGYNEST’ s strategy in action: providing a flexible, scalable power-toheat solution which delivers efficiency and reliability, enabling the Company to progress its decarbonization journey and move towards carbon neutrality.
Harnessing electrification with grid connection and renewable energy, ENERGYNEST’ s high temperature thermal energy storage system will play a critical role in advancing the green transition, enabling companies to improve efficiencies and to substantially reduce their carbon footprint. ENERGYNEST’ s solution is driving the transition to net zero, today, while enabling these essential industries to future-proof their operations.
