Risky Business What is Operational Risk? Operational risk occurs when inadequate, ineffec- tive, and outdated procedures and policies threated the sustainability of an organ- ization. Evaluating Operational Risk – Chapter Operations.           Does the chapter hold a chapter retreat? Does the chapter conduct transition workshops for incoming and outgoing officers? Does the chapter hold leadership development workshops? Does every member of the chapter have access to corporate office communication? Does the chapter have a storage location for documents and records that is secure, climate controlled, and fire proof? Does the chapter have qualified candidates for offices? Does the chapter conduct an annual review of ALL documents? Does the chapter submit end of the year reports in a timely manner? Does the chapter have protocols in place to protect sorority information? Does the chapter hold members accountable for maintaining sorority confidences? To be featured in the Pearls & Ivy monthly newsletter, please adhere to the following guidelines: · Submissions should come directly from the officer, committee chairman, or Ivy Leaf reporter-not from individual committee members unless designated. · Content (i.e. flyers, announcements, events) and pictures may be submitted for consideration at any time; however, the submission deadline is the 10th of the month. Submissions received after the deadline will be held for the next month’s newsletter, when appropriate. · Submission consists of photos and brief description of the event-no reports will be published in the newsletter. · Submit photographs as e-mail attachments in JPG file format and content as text or in MS Word. Do not embed photographs in your article text. · Epistoleus retains final creative license as to the layout of the newsletter. Inclusion in the newsletter must have the final approval of the Basileus.
