Thank You to every Target and Committee Chairman and your Seasoned and Brand New Members--YOUR partnering, planning, outreach, hard work, monetary support, thought- fulness, loving and caring has meant so much to ME and to those we touch in our South Suburban Community. WE could not have done anything without YOU!! ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Theta Rho Omega Sorors please take the opportunity to sign up for a 50 th Anniversary Sub-Committee!! FROM ONE PUMPKIN TO ANOTHER!! A WOMAN WAS ASKED BY A COWORKER: “WHAT IS IT LIKE TO HAVE FAITH IN GOD?” THE CO- WORKER REPLIED, “IT IS LIKE BEING A PUMPKIN – GOD PICKS YOU FROM THE PATCH, BRINGS YOU IN AND WASHES ALL THE DIRT OFF OF YOU. THEN HE CUTS OFF THE TOP AND SCOOPS OUT ALL THE YUCKY STUFF. HE REMOVES THE SEEDS OF DOUBT, HATE AND GREED. THEN HE CARVES YOU A NEW SMILING FACE AND PUTS HIS LIGHT INSIDE OF YOU TO SHINE FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE!!” P.S. T heta Rho Omega Chapter Happy Anniversary!! Yours In Service, Soror Jacqueline Richardson, Basileus Anti Basileus Message Kudos to the following: Our ASCEND scholars are on track for college acceptance and scholarship funds. Target V – Global Impact, in conjunction with ASCEND scholars, observed UN Day by participating in an essay contest entitled, “Global Learning Crisis and the Quality of Education.” Five scholars received a monetary award. Target II – Family Strengthening observed the Childhood Hunger Impact Community Day by preparing a hot breakfast for the chil- dren of Jones Community Center, followed by nutritional information. Happy Thanksgiving - May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump, May your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious and your pies take the prize, And may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs! Be grateful for family and the wine that will flow. How I’ll burn off these calories, I’ll never know. I’ll be bloated to here, I’ll be bloated to there. I’ll be stuck in elastic waistbands ‘til the end of the year. But I’ll remember that day with family and friends, With love and laughter that will never end. God bless and have a wonderful day, remembering what the day is about. Take a moment to remember all that you have to be grate- ful for - home, family, friends, good food, and as my Grandmother used to say, a reasonable portion of health and strength. The 100 th year celebration for Jones Community Center was remarkable because they took the moment and made it perfect. Thank you for sending me. Soror Jacqueline Brown Program Chairman
