May we join our hearts and minds together in a spirit of meditation and prayer. May these moments of quiet lead us to the heart of the season, which is peace. May you breathe deeply of the peace that is found in your hearts most quiet place, let yourself relax into a comforting warmth, realize you are safe, and reflect on the greatest story ever told. Like the wandering couple, may you find your greatest trials issue forth from your greatest joys. Like the harried innkeeper, may you find ways to be of help to others. Like the lumbering beasts, may you be a silent witness to the unfathomable glory of life. Like the shepherds on the hill, may you know you need never be afraid. Like the journeying wise, may you always have the courage to follow your stars. Like the angels, may you cry peace to a troubled world. Let us pray, Holy one, to these prayers for our own transformation we add our prayers for all of those who suffer and grieve this sea- son. May they find comfort. We add our prayers for all those involved in war; may they be safe. And may this season of peace and goodwill nudge our world towards its ideals, for then will Christmas truly dawn. Amen.
