The Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification program trains instructors to LEVEL III lead Pilates sessions based on the systematic flow of the classical approach 100 HOURS: 40 course hours | 60 logged hours for mat and all apparatus. Students learn that Pilates is a movement system, Level III comprises of three modules, the first two modules linked intelligently and with purpose for everyone from the deconditioned to complete the Comprehensive content (20 hours each), with the competitive athlete. The certification pathway comprises three levels and time in-between for completing logged hours. The final module- culminates with a comprehensive assessment. During each level, students INSTRUCTOR EDUCATION COMPREHENSIVE CERTIFICATION completes the certification pathway. complete course contact hours as well as observation, personal practice and teaching hours, for a cumulative total of 500 hours. COURSE MATERIALS Certification for each level requires attending all course hours, completing logged hours and earning passing scores on assessments. Maintaining certification requires earning a minimum of 14 CECs every two years or advancing to the next level. LEVEL I 200 HOURS: 80 course hours | 120 logged hours Steeped in the foundations of classical Pilates, Level I of the Peak Pilates comprehensive certification pathway is your first step toward mastering the Pilates method of movement. Students learn the fundamentals, as well as beginner-level exercises, teaching and cueing skills for mat and all apparatus. Level I comprises four modules (20 hours each), with time inbetween for completing logged hours. Course Prep Packets These informative packets help students prepare for courses with pre-workshop assignments, course agendas, charts for tracking logged hours and assessment criteria. Instructor Manual The Peak Pilates Comprehensive Instructor Manual is designed to be progressive and used throughout all three levels, with additional components provided at stages throughout the pathway. Extremely thorough, the manual provides education on Pilates history and fundamentals, anatomy, teaching skills and progressions as well as illustrated, detailed setup and execution instructions for each exercise on mat and apparatus. Instructor Education DVDs For each level of the pathway, a Peak Pilates Instructor Education DVD supplements the manuals and course sessions to help Pilates teachers gain the knowledge and skills they need. Cueing, transitions and touch techniques are beautifully demonstrated by Peak Pilates Master Instructors. LEVEL II 200 HOURS: 100 prerequisite hours | 40 course hours | 60 logged hours Level II expands upon the concepts and foundations taught in Level I, and develops more advanced skills in transitions, touch techniques, cueing variations and group reformer teaching. Students learn additional exercises for the mat, reformer, cadillac/tower, chair, spine corrector and endings.
