Electromagnetic Fields and Health
Electromagnetic fields are everywhere, but awareness of personal exposure and vigilance about reducing their negative impact can help protect you and your family.
1. Reduce cell phone use and keep cell phones away from close proximity of the
body, like pockets, for extended periods of time. Use the hands-free option with
cell phone use when able. Do not sleep next to cell phones and preferably place
them out of the room at night. Avoid high data activities on cell phones and try to
save for computer.
2.
Move electronics (clocks/radios) away from bed while sleeping. Aim to keep
them at least six feet away or consider battery operated devices.
3.
Do not sleep with an electric blanket.
4.
Reconsider neighborhoods within close proximity of high-voltage power lines or
cell phone towers.
5.
Switch to a corded phone instead of a cordless one, at least in rooms you spend
the most time (bedrooms).
6.
Don’t use your “laptop” computer on your lap.
7.
Turn off wireless internet during night hours and do not have router in bedroom.
8.
Consider reduction in cell phone and electronic device use in children as they
may be more sensitive to the effects of EMFs.
9.
Consider purchasing an EMF or RF detection monitor to assess residential or
workplace exposures.
10. Add natural supplements to your daily routine to reduce the effects of free radicals formed by EMFs. These include Vitamin C, E and beta-carotene anti-oxidant
supplements found in a good multivitamin and Coenzyme Q10 (60–100 mg
daily). You can also add botanicals rich in anti
