cleansing cream gone Uptown. There is a special
muslin cloth you can use with this cleanser that aids
in removing makeup and exfoliating.
If you must have something lathery to wash with, I
love Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. It is so gentle and leaves
your face feeling both clean and comfortable. It
smells like cucumber and rose, which reminds me of
how a spa smells. The scent alone makes me wash
a little more thoroughly. You can use this one with
your Clarisonic Brush if you have one.
Toners
Make sure your toner is alcohol-free. I like the Mario
Badescu toners. They are reasonably priced and have
so many formulas to choose from. The exfoliating
versions contain glycolic acid, which help keep the
skin clear without drying it out; the grapefruit versions help with fine lines as it sweeps away dead
skin cells. Others are more soothing if you are prone
to redness. They calm the skin and remove any
traces of makeup before other products are applied.
I also love Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner. Kiehl’s line has
something for everyone and it’s reasonably priced. It
also has a cool, apothecary-like packaging that looks
pretty on your bathroom counter.
Moisturizers/Serums
Most likely, your regular moisturizer doesn’t cut it in January. You can buy a
richer formula but I like to simply add a layer of serum underneath it because
I believe serums do more for you. One tried-and-true is Obagi’s Vitamin C Serum.
Layered under moisturizer, it gives your skin a nice, silky feel and it has beneficial
