and boost your skin’s clarity. The queen of serums
for dry skin (which I mentioned in December) is the
Rodin Olio Lusso Face Oil. Mixed with moisturizer,
or used at night, it is seriously moisturizing and it
smells delicious. This one, however, is an investment.
If you need a richer cream for winter, there are amazing options out there. Two I’ve used, without redness
or irritation, are Alchimie Forever Kantic + (which I
mentioned in September) and Dr. Brandt’s Lineless
Cream. I discovered the Lineless Cream years ago
while accompanying my husband to a conference in
Las Vegas. Because I was pregnant, I felt out of place
everywhere I went, except when I was shopping. It
really did make my face look and feel better, even
with hormonal skin. I have repurchased them, which
I only do with products that I really love.
Antiaging products
If you’ve fallen off the retinoid bandwagon because
you didn’t want to be peeling at a holiday event,
now’s the time to start over. There are so many
more choices so you will most likely find one that
your skin can tolerate. I recently tried Zo Medical’s
Retamax. Formulated by Zein Obagi, the physician behind the Obagi products, it is described as a
“micronized retinol” that is potent but blended with
skin-soothing agents. I did the ramp up approach on
this product, gradually increasing how many nights
a week I used it. I can now use it three times a week
with minimal or no peeling. It also smells and feels
