the blog Eat Drink Garden. Valerie’s
casual elegance and love of fresh, delicious and beautiful food is inspiring.
With its year-round growing season,
Santa Barbara has an abundance of
fresh produce and delicious restaurants.
Check out our locals’ tips on where to
eat and what to do in our city guide:
Eat.Stay.Shop.Play. (These guides are
now on our website for easy reference
to the cities that we have featured.)
I was fascinated by Santa Barbara’s
current artistic explosion. The Funk
Zone, a new area on State Street, was
modeled after the vibe in Austin,
Texas, and it is now home to artisan
restaurants, funky art studios and
unique coffee shops. With Santa Barbara’s deep historic heritage, this area
makes the city even more diverse.
With so many of the cities that we’ve
featured in Peachy, I say, “I’m ready
to move!” I really would move to
Santa Barbara in a heartbeat and fill
my garden with swaths of purple
agapanthus and blood orange trees
that I can’t grow in North Carolina.
I hope you enjoy this abundant city
and issue. Cheers to happy reading!
