PHONOLOGY: Over the years, educational research has identified
many reliable predictors of later reading performance, but
phonological awareness is one of the few factors that teachers are
able to influence significantly (Lane and Pullen, 2004).
OUTCOMES:
§ Learn how to administer and interpret diagnostic assessments of
Phonological Awareness.
§ Select and implement activities that match a student’s
developmental level of phonological skill.
§ Demonstrate instructional activities that identify, match, blend,
segment, substitute and delete sounds.
§ Learn to support instruction with manipulative materials and
movement.
