WILD ANIMALS VS . DOMESTIC ANIMALS
The PCC is surrounded by thousands of acres of vacant land which is home to all sorts of insects , snakes , critters and predators including coyotes , bobcats , javelinas ( wild pigs ) and even hawks . Since it has been so dry , these animals are making their way to populated areas searching for food and water . You will also see deer wandering around but the only thing they will eat is your ornamental plants .
It is important you keep your domestic animals in an enclosed area since there is a high probability they may come in contact with a predator . Unfortunately , I receive several calls regarding missing cats and small dogs .
It is extremely dangerous to provide food and water to wild animals and it is also against the law . It seems like every week there is a news report of people being attacked by wild animals , as these animals are not afraid of humans . So please don ’ t put water or food out for them as it will draw more and more animals in contact with people and pets .
