Volume 4 Issue 3 Page 5 National Boys Outdoor Leadership Camp Part 2 by Alexandar Veljanovski, Camper I was really glad when David and Todd asked me if I want to do this text because this is a really interesting job for me to do .I was glad that they wanted me to write this article because I’m going to speak for 60 campers who spent a lovely week in Berovo, east Macedonia. I’m not going to bother you with a long speech and I’m going to present my opinions and facts. First of all I must say I had a long trip like almost everybody else. We traveled from Negotino -Veles- Berovo which is almost 150 km. We arrived a little bit earlier, I think. I didn’t knew what was going to happen, but my counselor Josh del Pino (I’m sending him my greetings) explained to me . We made our flag and our name: “Eagles.” There were other groups like “Grey Wolves,” ”Walking Dead,” Metal Maniacs,” “Biohazard 11,” and “ Bad Company.” They gave us pencils, pens and a book with schedules. We had breakfast 3 sessions, lunch 3 sessions, free time sports time, dinner, electives and bed time. On the last day we had: “fun day”. It was great and we learned about Teamwork, Community/society (which was a little bit boring), Leadership, Arts, Health/First Aid, and Outdoors. We learned a lot of things which we would never learn any other place. I made a lot of friends, not just with campers but with the counselors too, and they were really nice. We had slip and slide, and we learned how to play Baseball, American Football and Ultimate Frisbee really well. So I had a lot of fun and I’ll go again. I think this is the time to stop my article and I hope I’m going to write again really soon. Good luck everybody. Note: Alexander Velanovski was a regional winner for the National Essay Contest. He has published his premier book of poetry and is active in student government and the Blue Sky English Club.
