walked and walked until she made it to that neighborhood, she had set sail for and was reminded of something she didn’ t particularly like. Just to her left she saw the Haunted Forest lying behind big, golden gates. She heard the devil himself lives there, and no doubt there were ghosts.
She walked up to the gates as if a force was pulling her to them. Even though her face was red by now and sweat was pouring off her face, she was curious, so she didn’ t fight it. She put her hand in the bar and pulled her face closer and peered inside. She didn’ t see much but darkness and what seemed to be miles upon miles of evergreen trees. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the smell of the sap from the trees coming inside the forest. The opened her eyes and looked closer. In the back she saw a couple tombstones and jolted back with a gasp as if seeing them had terrified her so much it broke the spell. She was taken aback by it, and almost fell over, struggling to balance herself. She thought that that was really weird and kinda creepy but decided to ignore it and enjoy her night as best as she could. It was Halloween after all, her favorite holiday. She turned around but turned back after a few seconds when she heard the noise of the gates behind her scrapping across the floor, opening.
She whipped around to see the gates to the forest wide open.“ Who’ s there? Who did that?” She says, but there is a lack of a response. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead and slid down her face like they were racing each other. Her hands started to sweat too and her face started to slowly turn red again like she was a cherry. Her legs started to shake and she was paralyzed in fear. Flashbacks of things she had heard about that forest came alive again in her mind and it was like she couldn’ t look away. It’ s like her eyes were glued to the screen in her mind.
The burning image of her friend’ s face after telling her about the forest bursted into flames in her head, like it was a haunting. Allie imagines his bloodshot, wide eyes after revealing the said truth about the Haunted Forest. It felt like she couldn’ t breathe or get the picture out of her mind. Then she started to remember everything her friends had said about it, not just the terrifying unsettling look on their faces after they spilt. She remembered Jeremy telling her the devil himself is in that forest. She recalls when Emma told her the monsters, ghosts, and ghouls in that forest eat kids and teenagers and thrive off of the energy they steal from them. She thought about the time Chloe told her that if you enter, the devil will steal your soul and trap you there forever. She started to sweat more and more and her face burned in a red-hot sweat, hotter and hotter every second. Heat rises from the bottom of her feet to her face. She felt like she was in a sauna or a boiler room. Then, everything went black.
Barely conscious, she felt two cold arms pick her up and bring her into the forest, but her head was pounding too much to do anything. It was like she was completely helpless. At that moment, she lied down on the floor, a hand on her aching head. She closed her eyes and blacked out again. After a few minutes she woke up, her brain still feeling like it was banging up against the sides of her skull. She put a hand on her head, groaning while sitting up. She took a look around and immediately was brought back to reality when she realized she was in the Haunted Forest. She forgot all about the pain in her head and jumped up, spinning around in circles like a ballet dancer as she tried to figure out how she can get home, and who brought her in there. Well little did she know, it wasn’ t exactly a who, but closer to a what.
