Marin vijenac - Field trip / Izlet na Marin vijenac

The trail we climbed starts at the foot of the hill near Mlinište. Mlinište is a small village near Metković. The road itself is not bumpy or winding, but it is a bit steep at times. Nevertheless we had no trouble climbing up; it took us only an hour or so. Alongside the road we saw many plants and animals unique to this area. The chapel of Saint Liberan is very small for a church, but it has a very rich history. Liberan, which is Latin for "free or honest", was born in fourth century France. He has been worshiped in the Neretva Valley. a long time. The view from the top of the hill is amazing; on a clear day, most of the Valley can be seen, almost down to the sea.

It was a sunny morning on March nineteenth, 2016. As we had agreed, we started our field trip from the foot of the hill Marijin vijenac around 9:30 am, all of us ready for a new adventure. We stuffed our backpacks with bottles of water and food that we would eat once we had reached our goal. The weather was ideal for our one-day trip, which encouraged us because we knew the nature would be waking up.

Walking, we observed the flora and fauna and tried to capture good photos. All of us had a lot of fun commenting on the environment and listening to our teachers complaining. Later, we noticed a queue of caterpillars. Some of us found that really interesting, so we held on there for a while. After an hour and a half, we came to the chapel of st. Liberan and were enjoying magnificent view of the Neretva river valley. When we saw a cross on the top of he hill, our final destination, we realized that we had a long way to go so we decided to take a rest. On the way to the cross we saw a lot of spring flowers. After one hour, we finally reached the top of Marijin vijenac. There we had a lot of fun eating, joking and taking pictures. After a well-deserved rest we returned to the foot of the hill around 3 pm.

Although we were really exhausted and tired, this was a great experience. We are looking forward to sharing all these wonderful impressions with you.
