Catherine Gallagos, breeder and owner of Generous (pictured above), was one of four breeders in the US selected to breed to Totilas his first
year standing at stud, she talked to us about her
experience breeding to Totilas in 2011. With no
semen brokers for Totilas at the time, getting
the frozen semen in to the US was a trying experience. Since the dam of generous is a dark bay,
Catherine fully expected a black foal and was
shocked at the resulting bright chestnut who
received Totilas' red recessive gene!

"Totilas is a very special horse. He has an
incredible amount of talent; it’s simply a
pleasure to ride him. Totilas is
everything a rider could want!"
