Filling the Health Care Pipeline
The grand opening of the Nursing and Allied Health Advancement Institute took place in July at the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch . The event brought together local health care leaders , community stakeholders and PHSC staff and faculty to celebrate the establishment of the Institute . This initiative was made possible by $ 1.5 million in state appropriations received by PHSC .
The Institute ’ s primary goal is to tackle the shortage of nursing and allied health professionals in Florida and can be used as a model nationwide . Through a multipronged , comprehensive and collaborative approach , the Institute will increase nursing and allied health pipelines on both sides of the equation — increasing the talent pipeline for faculty as well as for nursing and allied health employees .
