HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital recently presented the PHSC Foundation with a gift designated to the Oak Hill Hospital Medical Student Annual Scholarship . This generous donation will provide approximately seven scholarships to students enrolled in a health program during the 2023-2024 academic year .
Sylvia Huhtanen and daughter , Shirley Huhtanen , provided a generous gift to the Next Step Scholarship . Sylvia and her late husband , Charles , established the endowment in 2015 to assist financially needy students who are graduates of a Pasco or Hernando County high school , are enrolled in an Associate in Science degree program and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA .

Dental hygiene students continue to benefit from the support of the Periodontal Health Center . Their donation provided scholarships for two students during the spring 2023 term . The Periodontal Health Center has supported PHSC dental program students since 2010 .
Humana Healthy Horizons of Florida provided a generous gift to establish the Humana Healthy Horizons of Florida Healthcare Workforce Scholarship , which will provide approximately 75 scholarship awards for PHSC students . Humana Healthy Horizons of Florida recognizes the shortage of available healthcare workforce across Florida and wants to encourage and empower the next generation of healthcare professionals through this opportunity . Their goal is to support students interested in healthcare careers through this scholarship to successfully complete their education and subsequently enter into the healthcare workforce to serve populations in need .
In memory of those lost on 9 / 11 , the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel First Responder Scholarship was recently established to assist local youth who have a desire to serve as first responders . In order to qualify for this scholarship , students must be a graduate of Wesley Chapel High School , Wiregrass Ranch High School or Cypress Creek High School and be enrolled in the fire academy , law enforcement academy or nursing program at PHSC .

The Brooksville Kiwanis Foundation continued its investment in PHSC through the Geraldine E . Bishop Second Chance Scholarship . Since its inception in 2014 , this endowed scholarship has benefited 12 students totaling $ 16,600 .
The Rotary Club of Brooksville recently provided a gift to the Dr . Richard Trump - Rotary Club of Brooksville Scholarship . Since its inception in 1984 , 107 scholarship awards have been provided to PHSC students .
