UPDATE
PHSC annually hosts Peace Week , a pause to recognize that peace is not simply the absence of war , but a constantly changing and fragile ideology that can be threatened if people are not given the opportunity to express themselves and connect with one another . Why talk about peace ? In the last few years , we have spent more time alone , and our immediate world has changed . This year , Peace Week challenged students , faculty , staff , and the community to take note of their current views of the world and open their mind to looking at it differently .
Finding Peace

The design takes days to complete as small tubes , funnels , and scrapers are used to carefully place the sand . Upon completion , the sand mandala was displayed for a short period of time before a dissolution ceremony was held .
