Careers Take Flight with TRU Simulation
+ Training Aviation Scholarships

HSC’s new aviation department began offering two Associate of
Science degrees in Professional Pilot Technology and Aviation
Administration this fall. These innovative program offerings at
the East Campus have developed into a unique partnership for the PHSC
Foundation. TRU Simulation + Training, Inc., a Textron, Inc. company, while
headquartered in South Carolina, maintains a location in Lutz. This facility
manufactures and assembles flight simulators and provides innovative
aviation solutions to commercial and military markets. In recognition of the
community partnership, TRU Simulation + Training, Inc.’s donation will allow
the PHSC Foundation to award its first scholarship this year to students
pursuing careers in aviation fields.
During the recent Aviation Programs Open House at the East Campus, TRU
Simulation representative Eric Schilens presented the PHSC Foundation
with a check for $1,300 to establi sh the TRU Simulation + Training Aviation
Scholarship Fund. Two 2017-2018 scholarships will be awarded at $650
per semester designated toward students pursing degrees in Aviation
Maintenance, Aviation Management, Professional Pilot Technology or
Unmanned Vehicle Systems.
