On August 28, PHSC held a check presentation and reception to celebrate the generosity of Orlando Health. The event honored their transformative gift, which will further the mission of The Institute for Nursing and Allied Health Advancement at PHSC.
PHSC Recognizes Orlando Health for Generous Support
The Institute, an initiative housed at the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch, focuses on addressing critical workforce shortages in nursing and allied health fields within the region. The Institute’ s mission is to cultivate a thriving health care workforce in the region by fostering innovative partnerships and providing exceptional education and training in nursing and allied health fields.
Orlando Health, Inc. presents a donation to Pasco-Hernando State College.
The event featured remarks from several key leaders who have played integral roles in establishing The Institute: Eric Hall, Ed. D., PHSC President;
Representative Randy Maggard; Senator Danny Burgess; and Andy Gardiner, Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Community Relations, Orlando Health.
The Institute Gathers Health Care Partners for Inaugural Meeting
In early September, The Institute for Nursing and Allied Health Advancement at PHSC hosted its inaugural Quarterly Meeting at the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch. Since its opening in July 2024, The Institute has formed strategic alliances with eight hospitals within the region.
Serving as a vital first step, the meeting brought partners together to collaboratively identify and implement strategies that will strengthen the local health care workforce and increase the nursing and allied health care pipeline in Pasco and Hernando counties.
