Foundation board member Andy Taylor and his colleague Julie Ward presented a check from Tampa Electric( TECO) to support the Bobcat Emergency Relief Fund. Their generous donation will assist those in need of immediate financial help due to unforeseen circumstances.

Paul Miller, D. D. S., a dedicated supporter of the dental program at PHSC, recently established the PHSC Dental Assisting Program Scholarship Fund. Thanks to his generosity, two dental assisting program students received financial support to continue their education during the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Rotary Club of Seven Springs presented a generous gift to the PHSC Foundation for the Rotary Club of Seven Springs William( Bill) Van Sickle Memorial Scholarship. The donation highlights the organization’ s commitment to supporting education and providing opportunities for local students to pursue their academic dreams. Since 1996, the Rotary Club of Seven Springs has provided 37 scholarships to PHSC students totaling $ 20,750 through their two scholarship endowments.
The Florida College System Foundation continued providing financial resources to students through the Helios Education Foundation First Generation in College Scholarship, the Bank of America Dream Makers Scholarship and the Florida Blue Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship. Cumulatively, their gift has provided over $ 35,000 in scholarships during the 2024- 2025 academic year.
The Albert Leroy Brown Foundation, Inc. provided a generous gift in support of the general scholarship fund.
Provost Emerita Donna Burdzinski, Ed. D., and PHSC Foundation Board Member Ken Burdzinski provided a gift to the Burdzinski / Epperson Family Scholarship. Their support demonstrates their ongoing commitment to higher education.
PHSC professor and past Faculty Senate Vice President, Stacey Thomson, Ph. D., made a significant contribution to the 2024 Employee Giving Campaign by providing matching funds. Her generous support doubled the impact of new or increased gifts made by employees during the campaign. Thomson’ s commitment to the campaign, along with the support of other employee donors, has played a crucial role in transforming the lives of students and enhancing the PHSC community. Through this collective effort, PHSC continues to provide greater opportunities for students to succeed and thrive in their academic journey.

PHSC employees experiencing financial hardships will continue to have access to financial assistance thanks to a generous gift provided by Foundation board member Ron May. May was instrumental in establishing the Bobcat Emergency Relief Fund for Employees in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Elizabeth Vorscheck and Ken Hill continue to honor the legacy of their loved one by supporting PHSC nursing students through the Janis L. Hill Scholarship. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a career in nursing, ensuring that Janis’ dedication to health care and education continues to inspire future generations of nurses.
Brandon May, PHSC Foundation Board Vice Chair, made a generous gift to the Friends of the Foundation Fund which is used to meet the most pressing needs of the college and PHSC students.
