PROGRAMS AND STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
T
he Hernando Healthcare Foundation, Inc. (HHF)
has consistently supported the health care
programs and students at PHSC’s North Campus.
This community partner has elevated the equipment
and educational opportunities of future health care
workers studying to work in the areas where they
live. The HHF board recently donated $74,000 for
student scholarships and to purchase a classroom
ambulance simulator. The training equipment will
provide EMS students the capability to practice and
reinforce professional tasks, procedures and policies
in an environment that emulates a realistic ambulance
workspace. The scholarship contribution helped the
PHSC Foundation maximize $24,436 in matching dollars
from the Florida Blue Foundation and the Florida First
Generation Matching Grant.
Thank you to the Hernando Healthcare Foundation,
Inc. for continued support of the College and for
elevating the importance of high-quality health care
for our community. The organization to date has
contributed $752,300. In 2013, the College recognized
the organization’s dedication to students and the
community through a dedication of the Hernando
Healthcare Foundation, Inc. Nursing Simulation Suite at
the North Campus.
