COLLEGE UPDATE BRIDGE TO SUCCESS: THE COLLEGE READINESS EXPERIENCE Pasco-Hernando State College is implementing a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on student success as part of a decennial accreditation reaffirmation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). PHSC’s QEP, Bridge to Success: The College Readiness Experience, focuses on improving student success by providing engaging, meaningful and relevant learning experiences in four specific areas of college readiness: problem solving, intellectual openness, time management and persistence for first-time-in-college students. The Bridge to Success consists of a three-credit course and a series of activities designed to increase success rates in introductory college-credit bearing courses, and increase first-year retention and completion rates. “College constituents from all levels—faculty, staff, students, administrators, District Board of Trustees, and the community—have been involved in the development of this experience,” said Misty Price, Ph.D., Professor, Accounting, and QEP Director and Chair, QEP Development and Implementation Committee. “We expect great success for students who complete this experience.” The Bridge to Success: The College Readiness Experience will be piloted at each campus in the spring 2020 semester. ONE COLLEGE • ONE TEAM • ONE SYSTEM WITH CAMPUSNEXUS ® Campus Management and Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) have partnered to transform the College with a modern, cloud-based student platform for enabling students to achieve academic and career success in today’s global society. To elevate the higher education learning experience for students and faculty, PHSC selected the Campus Management full suite of CampusNexus ® solutions, including CampusNexus Engage, CampusNexus Student, CampusNexus Finance, HR & Payroll, and CampusNexus Occupation Insight. “As we embark on this technology evolution, we are excited to reimagine new ways for our institution to deliver the education and skills necessary to enhance our local, state and global economy,” said Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., PHSC President. “The enterprise- wide, efficient platform, CampusNexus, will transform how PHSC engages its students in ways that build meaningful relationships that support their success.” The CampusNexus platform will become a single-source of truth for faculty and staff across the institution and enables more meaningful and effective student outreach and connection. The solutions have a variety of benefits to students and faculty that transform operational efficiency and academic delivery at an institution. “As more digital natives enter the Florida College System, they require more intuitive technology that allows them to find the answers they need quickly, so they can spend more time focusing on their education,” said Campus Management CEO Jim Milton. The Campus Management team visited PHSC to host demonstrations and informational overviews collegewide and deep dive sessions with College teams from academic affairs, student affairs, human resources and finance, as well as subject matter experts. System mapping and configuration will be underway in the next few months, with an expected rollout of the new system in 2021. PHSC is one college and one team, and with this new enterprise resource planning platform, it will have one system. SPRING 2020 19
