Dear Friends ,
We are pleased to present the 2020 Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation annual report . The publication allows us to express our gratitude to our alumni , faculty , staff , and friends of the Foundation . This past year , the financial need for scholarships and student support has been greater than ever . With your help , we distributed additional scholarship support for students and provided solutions to unique circumstances that evolved due to the pandemic .
The Foundation provided financial support to 950 students by awarding over $ 1.2 million in scholarship funds during the 2020-2021 academic year . In response to the pandemic ’ s economic ramifications , the Support our Students ( SOS ) Emergency Relief Fund was established – allowing us to raise $ 65,000 and provide support to 330 students in need of immediate financial assistance .
Out of concern for our faculty and staff , a generous gift was provided by a PHSC Foundation board member and the Bobcat Fund was established to provide confidential financial relief to employees .
At the peak of the pandemic , when the College ’ s in-person student services moved to a virtual format , staff rotated their on-campus schedules to ensure the food pantries were stocked and open to aid those experiencing food insecurity . While switching to remote work the Foundation pivoted and hosted our first ever online fundraiser , HundredX Feedback for Good , raising $ 30,000 in just 30 days .
Although the pandemic presented new challenges for the College and our district , we are proud that our culture of philanthropy continued to grow at Pasco-Hernando State College . A very special thank you to all who have given , and continue to give , of their time , talent , and treasure .
