Consulting Services

“ Asset-mapping builds on strengths . As a church with strong ties to many community stakeholders , we might have said , ‘ No , thanks . We ’ re good .” Instead , we took guidance from [ Partners ] and deepened and expanded our community relationships . With the community asset mapping , the design charette blew open our congregation ’ s collective imagination . We moved from thinking about merely addressing current structural issues and updating to envisioning a future of aligned community partnerships through which church and community might be transformed .”
— The Rev . Kathleen Reed , University Lutheran Church ,
Cambridge , MA
Partners offers a broad range of Consulting Services , but the majority fall into the following areas :
New Dollars / New Partners is a capacity-building training program designed to give clergy and lay leaders the knowledge and tools to use their buildings ’ physical and cultural assets as tools for raising support , restoring their infrastructure , and revitalizing their community .
Capital Campaign Services include studies , which lay the foundation for successful capital campaigns by identifying resources and opportunities , and capital campaign management , which helps congregations plan and executive community-based capital campaigns .
Community Engagement services connect congregations ’ resources with the gifts and talents of their members and neighbors . Often these include asset-mapping events , to identify a congregation ’ s strengths and determine programming and fundraising strategies based on those strengths , and design
charrettes , to physically reimagine a sacred place in light of the congregation ’ s vision .
Halo Studies utilize the methodology developed for Partners ’ research study on the Economic Halo Effect of Sacred Places™ to make a compelling case for philanthropic support of sacred places as engines of neighborhood health and vitality .
Consulting Services are funded by client congregations and other project partners — often supported by grants they receive — so income from Consulting Services is counted as “ Earned Revenue ” in the financial report in the following pages . Income from consulting supports Partners ’ mission , and these services are an important way that Partners fulfills its mission to build the capacity of congregations to better serve their communities .
